Lola Blank, President and CEO of LHB Entertainment in Los Angles,
CA, has been active in show business since the age of twelve, when
she was featured in the movie Up The Down Staircase. She
went on to performing in countless off-Broadway productions, and
with The Robert Hooks Group Theater Workshop (which later became
the Negro Ensemble Company) and Vinnette Carroll's Urban Arts Corps.
A drama major and graduate of The High School of Performing Arts
made famous by the movie and subsequent television series,
Fame Lola appeared on Broadway and continued to appear
in movie roles, most notably The Landlord, starring Beau
Bridges, Diana Sands and Louis Gossett, Jr.; and The Super,
starring Kenny Blank and Joe Pesci.
Lola performed for ten years with James Brown and the James Brown
Revue, singing and dancing all over the world, garnering appearances
on Soul Train, Midnight Special, In Concert
and numerous other music variety shows. One highlight of her association
with "The Godfather of Soul" was her appearance at the Ali vs. Forman
Fight, the "Rumble In The Jungle" in Zaire, Africa. You
can see her performing in the Oscar award-winning movie When
We Were Kings and its promotional video featuring music by The
Fugees.
Lola co-produced with her husband Bob Blank, the #1 hit "Over
Like A Fat Rat" for Fonda Rae; Lola became an artist on Island
Records with the Hip Hop classics "Wax The Van", Arthur
Russell's "Bango" by The Todd Terry Project and others.
Lola Blank lives and works in Los Angeles, California, and is currently
the co-creator, co-producer and co-writer of the stage show "3
Blacque Chix Herotica" starring Mariaan Aalda, Lola Love and
Iona Morris, which is scheduled to tour nationally in 2006 and internationally
in 2007.
