3/3/2008 Bob Blank appears in Arthur Russell documentary by BB 
Arthur Russell, musician and songwriter, has been profiled in a new documentary by Matt Wolf called "Wild Combination". It was an official selection of the Berlin Film Festival, and is coming to the US movie theatres soon.Bob Blank produced albums and singles featuring Arthur, his ex wife Lola Love, and his son Kenny Blank, some of which are the subjects of a recent CD collection "The World Of Arthur Russell" from Soul Jazz Records; a review from Slate Magazine is located here: http://www.slate.com/id/2096948/ Bob is interviewed in the movie and some of Arthur’s most notable songs ("Go Bang" for instance) are discussed, along with vintage photos and videos. Additionally, Arthur’s group The Necessaries is discussed (Bob produced their album for Sire / WB) and there is a lot of discussion by Philip Glass, David Byrne, Allan Gisburg, and other contemporaries of Bob and Arthur’s from the era.
